Reducing Inflation

The Inflation Reduction Act is lowering costs, creating jobs and protecting Nevada.

With high prices squeezing Nevada families, Catherine Cortez Masto took action to bring down costs and cut the deficit by passing the Inflation Reduction Act. This legislation lowers health care costs for seniors by allowing Medicare to negotiate the price of prescription drugs, capping the cost of insulin at $35 per month for Medicare recipients, expanding subsidies for low-income seniors, and capping annual-out-of pocket drug costs for seniors enrolled in Medicare.

Catherine personally negotiated and secured $4 billion to combat drought in the West and delivered federal support that will create thousands of new clean-energy jobs in Nevada while reducing the deficit by billions – all by making big corporations pay their fair share.

While Catherine is cutting costs, her opponent, Adam Laxalt, is standing with the big pharmaceutical companies that oppose this legislation — putting himself and his allies ahead of Nevadans.
